Ryan Albrecht, Durango, Colorado
Ryan Albrecht, owner of the Durango tree service “Southwest Certified Arborists”, grew up about 15 miles from Durango, Colorado. As soon as he could hold a pencil, he began drawing. Recognizing his innate artistic ability, his parents enrolled him in many art classes and private lessons throughout his youth. These art foundations affect his landscape design and tree work on every job.
In college Ryan studied horticulture, arboriculture (the study of tree science), and landscape design. He lived in Japan for two years and has returned several times to tour many of the famous Japanese gardens. The principles of Japanese design naturally influence his landscaping designs and tree work.
He did landscaping design and installation for years and then gradually added in more and more tree work. He became an I.S.A. certified arborist in 1997 and worked for an amazing arborist in Provo, Utah for a while. There he met and married his wife Christina after which, they moved back to southwest Colorado. They have worked in landscape design and tree work since then, providing general tree care, pruning, and removal, fire mitigation, consultation, and organic bark beetle spraying.
